If the Screen Actors Guild Awards this year are any indication, most of the acting Academy Awards will go to African-Americans (Viola Davis, Denzel Washington, and Mahershala Ali).
Those three actors plus the entire cast , African-American again, of "Hidden Figures" won four of the five acting motion picture awards.
IN a country where Africa-Americans are 12% of the population, this, to me, is remarkably racist, an indication not of progress but of its opposite.
As a person of color, I have to state again that saying that persons of color were "fairly" represented again is a distortion of the truth, as persons of color never include Asian-Americans and only rarely Hispanic-Americans, and almost always African-Americans.
White liberals (and blacks) can be so damn racist...and blind, when they think they are being "color-blind" and "un-racist."
I know. I live in Seattle.
The last time an Asian-American actor was nominated was 15 years ago. No Asian-American has ever been nominated in a lead acting category. The last time an Hispanic-American actor was nominated was 7 or 8 years ago.
