A review of Trip Adviser: This must be a Donald Trump-affiliated corporation

"Thou shalt not be afraid...
except of Trip Advisor."

Trip Advisor - used by tens of millions around the world - with its online forums (and heavy links to the tourist industry and to advertising).

I have found it to be undercover racist, Donald Trump-style, with its implicit
"racism is an equal opportunity employer," i.e., in the light of appalling attacks on certain groups in France--such as Jews in France or on Chinese tourists/residents of Paris in recent years, it protects trolls who, in effect, bash the persecuted telling them that they are as reprehensible (in fearing for their lives and property) as the perpetrators are (in choosing them to violate).

By the same reasoning, oh, yes, the French are racist, neurotic-phobic, and chauvinistic for being afraid of another terrorist attack and for discussing preventative measures.

No one has berated the French government for providing protection of mosques because in their opinion French Muslims don't have "a God-given right to be afraid" of being attacked (given, for instance, the "slim" likelihood based on the ratio of actual attacks to the actual population of 10 or so million.

Tell an African-American visiting South Carolina a few weeks after the bombing of a church that if they have a lot of fears that they are just as extreme or extremist as the man who committed that act.

Here is the latest example of Trip Advisor policy:

>> Your position of "those <insert group> will beat me up because I'm Chinese" is just as ethnophobic as "let's beat him up because he's Chinese".
Your comments betray an ignorance that I do find astonishing.
I was saying, if you had not jumped to conclusions, that I feel the need to take extra precautions because anyone looking Chinese will have a greater likelihood--how much, I cannot say for sure--of being targeted for robbery and/or other violence, which the Mayor of Aubervilliers himself asserted when he labelled the beating to death of a Chinese man last week as clearly racist, and the number of officially reported victims of violent crimes over 100 since mid-November. The whole community there held a huge protest last week. These were not isolated incidents.
Anyone who believes otherwise or that crime is "an equal opportunity employer "is incapable of looking at the facts and inducing a not so-difficult -to-reach conclusion.

I mentioned my race because middle-aged white women get mugged, too, as we are perceived as being weak and an easy target.
Please don't wear the colour of your skin as your God-given right to be afraid of everything that moves.
Your position of "those <insert group> will beat me up because I'm Chinese" is just as ethnophobic as "let's beat him up because he's Chinese".
There are hundreds of thousands of Asian (and white and black and brown and red and yellow and every color of the human rainbow) people in Paris every single day -- and nearly 100% of them get through their day without incident. Don't assume that you're so special that you'll be singled out.
I find your post highly offensive in view of the obvious racism involved in Aubervilliers directed at one community. Please do not post your opinions. I feel insulted. Obviously you do not read French or, at least to me, have a deep interest in France, its history, culture, or values.

*** This, to me, is something

 Donald Trump would say. ***

As in, "people who are afraid should shut up because fear based on facts, you know, is as ethno-phobic as violent crime.  Violent crime, you know, is equally distributed to all groups, that's A FACT, ladies and gentlemen."

The woman who posted comment #61 said something not just insulting but also deeply disturbing in its egregious and mean-spirited unfairness.  And yet Trip Advisor implicitly endorsed it, while removing comments #62 and #63 as "inappropriate" and "in violation of Trip Advisor rules."

Donald Trump, September 2015

Comments #62 and #63 were removed (an hour or so), while comment #61 was left alone.

The original poster will be closing their account with Trip Advisor based on what is, in their view, unethical and what amounts to racist behavior on the part of the company.
