I don't know if the following excerpt from a conversation took place.  But if it did, I can well imagine the following answer to the question:


Is there anything, Cynthia, that you said that 
might have provoked, unintentionally on your part (*I'm assuming), the member to use an expletive?




No, there wasn't.   I was just questioning the member in order to try to understand what they meant

when they wrote me the email.
